Greg Riley is a 40-year owner, and restorer of collector vehicles. During that time, he has personally owned over 200 collector cars, sold and brokered countless others, provided pre-purchase inspections, insurance and bank appraisals, and testified as an expert witness in court cases over value disputes and insurance losses. He is also frequent Concours d’Elegance judge, and the former announcer for the Concours d’Elegance of Texas.
Greg is also a multiple-award winning journalist member of the Texas Auto Writers Association, and Texas Motor Press Association. He is the TAWA 2019 & 2020 1st place winner for best automotive web content, and honorable mention in the broadcast category for his podcast. His written work has appeared in Old Cars Weekly, Sportscar Market, American Car
Collector, Hearst Newspaper, and numerous other club and collector car publications. Greg is the published author of three books, a peer-reviewed historical text, and two automotive technical manuals. He was also featured in a documentary released in 2021 featuring his expertise on the convergence of the oil and automotive industries in early 20th century America.
He has previously appeared as a classic and collector car expert on ESPN Sports Radio, Gow Media, Lets Talks Wheels, and In Wheel Time radio programs. He hosts a weekly podcast “Tales from the Garage” on GarageDlx.FM with his co-host, noted European automotive Journalist and sportscar expert Natan Tazelaar.
Greg tests and evaluates new cars for major manufacturers and is considered a major influencer in the new car market. In 2019-2022 he evaluated cars for BMW, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Mini Nissan, Ram, Rolls Royce, and Volvo. In most years he evaluates over 50 makes and models of new cars and trucks.
Collector vehicles he has personally restored are frequent show winners. His personal 1957 Ford Skyliner is a multiple best in show winner.
